Job Title: Program Lead – Teens Art Program (TAP)
Position Type: Part-Time (3 hours per week, 52 weeks annually)
Compensation: $23/hour, Tuesdays 4 – 6 p.m.
Location: Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art, 1400 1st Ave N Great Falls, MT 59401
Reports To: Liz Slot, Education Director
Position Overview
The Program Lead for the Teens Art Program (TAP) is responsible for designing, facilitating, and leading a dynamic, arts-based after-school program serving youth ages 15 to 18, including court-involved and diversion program participants. This role cultivates creativity, confidence, leadership, and career pathways through hands-on art instruction, mentorship, collaborative artmaking, and community engagement.
Core Responsibilities
Program Facilitation & Instruction
Facilitate weekly sketchbook journaling sessions centered on identity, resilience, and hope
Coordinate guest speakers and professional artist discussions
Lead at least three collaborative community art projects during the Year
Communicate with parents/guardians and referral partners as needed
Assist in documenting program attendance, outcomes, and impact goals
Qualifications
Required:
2+ years’ experience teaching and mentoring teens (ages 15–18)
Strong background in visual arts (degree preferred but not required)
Demonstrated ability to create inclusive, trauma-informed environments
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Experience with collaborative community-based art projects or public art/mural making.
Preferred:
Experience working with underserved or court-involved youth
