Job Title: Program Lead – Teens Art Program (TAP)

Position Type: Part-Time (3 hours per week, 52 weeks annually)
Compensation: $23/hour, Tuesdays 4 – 6 p.m.
Location: Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art, 1400 1st Ave N Great Falls, MT 59401
Reports To: Liz Slot, Education Director

Position Overview

The Program Lead for the Teens Art Program (TAP) is responsible for designing, facilitating, and leading a dynamic, arts-based after-school program serving youth ages 15 to 18, including court-involved and diversion program participants. This role cultivates creativity, confidence, leadership, and career pathways through hands-on art instruction, mentorship, collaborative artmaking, and community engagement.

Core Responsibilities

Program Facilitation & Instruction

  • Facilitate weekly sketchbook journaling sessions centered on identity, resilience, and hope

  • Coordinate guest speakers and professional artist discussions

  • Lead at least three collaborative community art projects during the Year

  • Communicate with parents/guardians and referral partners as needed

  • Assist in documenting program attendance, outcomes, and impact goals

Qualifications

Required:

  • 2+ years’ experience teaching and mentoring teens (ages 15–18)

  • Strong background in visual arts (degree preferred but not required)

  • Demonstrated ability to create inclusive, trauma-informed environments

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Experience with collaborative community-based art projects or public art/mural making.

Preferred:

  • Experience working with underserved or court-involved youth
