Here at The Square, we provide opportunities for local artists to utilize our space and equipment in the education department for their artistic needs. It is our hope that we provide a safe environment for all our artists in the community! If interested in our monthly studio rental, please contact the Interim Education Manager, Graham Kerwin, at graham@the-square.org or (406) 727- 8255.

Equipment & Facilities (All offered first come, first served):

  • Cone 6 Electric Kiln

  • Cone 10 Gas Kiln (fired 5-8 times per year)

  • Slab Rollers

  • Throwing Wheels

  • Pottery Tools

  • Hand-building Workspaces

  • Glaze Room

  • Single Day Use: $8

    • Includes access to Wheel Room & Glaze Room

    • No shelving included

    Monthly Studio Membership: $60

    • Access to Wheel Room & Glaze Room

    • Locker and shelf available for additional fees

    Students Enrolled in a Pottery Class: (cost varies by class)

    • Access to designated classroom, Wheel Room, Glaze Room, Bisque Firing, Glaze Firing

    • Includes shelf space in Wheel Room only

  • A-Clay: Cone 6, forgiving/workable, beginners

    • $18 half box (25lbs)

    • $36 full box (50lbs)

    Wally’s: Cone 6, Brown, beginners

    • $18 half box (25lbs)

    • $36 full box (50lbs)

    ABF Stoneware: Cone 10, brown

    • $18 half box (25lbs)

    • $36 full box (50lbs)

    Reclaimed Clay: Cone 6, mystery flavor

    • $15 half box (25lbs)

    • $30 full box (50lbs)

  • Anyone who is NOT currently enrolled in a ceramics class must fill out a firing request form and pay before pieces are picked up after firing. Payments should be made in the museum Gift Shop.

    Prices vary depending on the type of firing requested, size of objects, and number of pieces fired. Please contact Graham Kerwin, Interim Education Manager, 2 weeks in advance to inquire about firing schedules. graham@the-square.org
