Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art is proud to present Nona Jane Kendall: Where Life Wanders — An Artist’s Adventures of Home and Beyond, opening Feb. 20, 2026, and running through April 18, 2026. This celebratory exhibition honors the lifelong creative journey of artist, educator, and community member Nona Jane Kendall. With artwork that spans more than seven decades, the exhibition features primarily acrylic paintings alongside early watercolors and added works in varied mediums — offering visitors an intimate look at an artist who has never stopped observing, learning, and making.

An artist reception will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 5:30 p.m., and the public is warmly invited to attend, meet the artist, and celebrate this special exhibition.

About this Exhibition:

Born in 1945 and shaped by a life rich with travel, teaching, and family, Kendall draws inspiration for her work from the places she has lived and the moments that have stayed with her, from quiet scenes of everyday life to travels in Ireland and France. Her paintings are layered with memory and experience, embracing experimentation, evolving techniques, and what she calls “happy accidents.” Each piece reflects Kendall’s belief that art is a way of capturing life; much like a photograph, it preserves the “here, there, and everywhere” of one’s journey.

This exhibition holds special meaning for the Great Falls community. Kendall has been involved with the Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art since its earliest days, serving as a teacher, board member, docent, student, and enthusiastic supporter. While she has exhibited work regionally and participated in auctions and group shows, this exhibition marks a meaningful homecoming. As Kendall enters her ninth decade, Where Life Wanders stands as a joyful affirmation of creativity, curiosity, and the importance of sharing one’s gifts.

This exhibition was curated by Nicole Maria Evans, Chief Curator/Director of Curatorial Affairs.
