Stitched in Time: Juried Quilt Exhibition Thayer, Mungas/Volk and Rothschiller Galleries
Following the success of last year’s quilt exhibition Layered Comfort, The Square presents an exhibition of original work designed and quilted by Cascade county artists. The exhibition also features works by Helena quilter Linda Parker who served as the exhibition juror. Ms. Parker of Montana Quilts has been a quilter since 1976. She is the author of Montana Star Quilts and designer of quilt patterns. In 1993, Lady’s Circle Patchwork Quilt featured Linda’s book and collection of Native American Indian star quilts. She spoke at the Smithsonian, Common Threads Symposium in 1999. In September of 2003, she had a one woman show at the Myrna Loy Theatre in Helena and her work has been exhibited at the Holter Museum of Art in Helena. In 2008, she was one of 25 folk artists chosen for the National Folk Festival in Butte, Montana. Exhibiting Artists: Lynn Hebert, Sharon R. Hovey, Connie McAlpin, Lea McComas, Jan Popa, Jean L.
