Educational activities engage all the senses, reach out to the entire region, and encourage visitors to develop ideas, thoughts, and creations of their own. The Museum annually provides special tours and programming for more than 5,000 students in the region. Partnerships with the schools complement the visual arts curriculum, and in some cases, Museum programming is the students' only artistic experience during the school year. Collaboration with regional schools expands each exhibition's educational impact through classroom links to history, literature, and geography.

Docents provide more than 300 exhibition tours each year, with most tours including a hands-on art making experience. All third grade classes from the Great Falls Public Schools District annually tour an exhibition and participate in an art activity.

The L'Heureux Page Werner Educational Resource Room provides continued, interactive learning opportunities for visitors of all ages. From hands-on activities to art books, videos, and magazines, the Resource Room offers lots of fun ways to learn more about art. You can experiment with the Abstraction Attraction wooden puzzle or make your own Build-A-Steen "tree people" sculpture, like the ones found in the exhibition, Lee Steen: A Montana Original.
